A Dog's Life

About D๐Ÿพ

Hi everyone! Welcome to DtheDoggo.com where you will find and read things about dogs, doggies, pups and among other names you call us. This will tell you stories on what it is to have a doggo in your life. Oh… Actually, it’s the other way around! I’m going to tell you, HOW IT IS TO HAVE HOOMAN (human) IN OUR LIVES.

That’s why I called it: A Dog’s Life with Hooman.

And I am pretty sure that a lot of dog owners and doggos like me will be able to resonate with this site

D’s (my) STORY

Oki doki as the title said >>>> My Story. I’m just going to share with you how I end up with my hooman family or should I say… How did they end up with me! ????

D is the name by the way. Yep~ it’s like singing the alphabet— a, b, c, D.

This website will be all about me (the dog), dogs in general, and my hoomans and the crazy things that we do– or should I say crazy things they do to me and make me do????

D the Doggo A Dog's Life with Hooman

So, who am I/ Well, my name is D… the Doggo. I was still a pupper when I came to my Hooman’s (dad’s life) shop.

It was summer of July 2019, and yes– I can still remember it clearly.

Since then, I never left their side. I remember my mom and brother rushed to the shop as soon as my dad told them that there’s a stray pup in the shop!

D the Doggo A Dog's Life with Hooman

This is my brother, Sy. Hmm๐Ÿค” .. my name is D and his name is Sy (pronounced as C). Seems like my mom likes one syllable names! ๐Ÿ˜

First off, my hooman family didn’t have any plan of adopting or to have a dog in the first place. Because, we all know that to be a responsible pawrents IS NOT A WALK IN A PARK. Raising a pup, to have a dog consumes time, energy and of course money.

Having a pet is like raising another kid.

Let’s talk about my name now, you’ve been wondering why D, right? You may think that my hoomans didn’t put much effort into it. But, that’s not true. So here’s the story :

D the Doggo A Dog's Life with Hooman

My dog mom was actually a stray dog. Before when I was little, she visits me by passing by to our shop. And there were time that I ran with her too! Gladly, my dad caught me otherwise, I will end up like her.

Because they always see my stray dog mom visiting, and that I also played with her– they were thinking that, there’s the possibility of me leaving as well.

If you’ll ask : “Why not adopting us both?”

Well, my hooman pawrents can’t afford to have my stray mom simply because they just can’t have a dog. Having me though, is somehow a different situation. ????

Back to the story, so they my hooman family, although I have the tendency to leave later on, they still felt that they need to call me a name somehow while I’m with them,

With not being emotionally attached.

At first my mom called me Aurora, thinking I was a girl ????. Soon, found out that I was actually a boy. So my brother came up with the name Dog, but instead of full, he made it just the letter D. So it will be easy for Koreans to pronounced as well, clever, huh? ????

And with the term “doggo” (refers to dogs) becoming famous these days, my name turned into D the Doggo.

Besides, hoomans are sharing almost everything about their lives and about their pets. So, why not join the fun, right? Since I’m the author, I’ll be sharing with you my life with my hoomans.

dog and family

By the way let me share you a pic taken last Christmas with my hoomans.

This is my family now! Mom forced us to wear these Santa hats!

And forced my to be in that Santa costume that doesn’t even fit! ๐Ÿ˜† I think she miscalculated how I’ve grown!

Perhaps, she thought I’m still tiny. You know, parents don’t noticed their kids growing until somebody said something.

Anyway, I love them. I will always love them. And I’m pretty sure that they love me too. I can feel it every day. ????

DOGS & OTHER PETS GETTING THE ATTENTION THESE DAYS

According to the 2019-2020 APPA National Pet Owners Survey, 67% of U.S. households own a pet, which equates to 84.9 millions homes.

Here’s a screenshot from their website— Please be sure to visit it so you’ll have clearer information :

That survey is just in the US alone! Its insane right?

It also proves that how easy it is to get a pet these days and sad to say, it is also easy to abandon us.

That’s why in this website, DtheDoggo.com, I am not only sharing with you crazy stuff but also, some serious matters. Also, you’ll find articles about the following :

  • Product Reviews
  • Simple Training you can do at home (my mom’s fave)
  • Simple Tricks that my mom teaches me
  • Pet Care
  • Pet Social Media (although I’m still learning about it)

Probably, I might come out for some more, we will see about that. So with that in line, I can assure that this site will not only be entertaining but educational as well. Something that every dog and dog owners can resonate and relate too.

D’ GOAL OF MY SITE

With that being said, I could say that the goal of DtheDoggo.com is to help other doggies out there to choose the right product for them. Share a few simple dog tricks and basic commands (that you can teach your pawrents too!). By the way, my mom’s not a trainer, she just follow what she sees in TV and practice it on me ????.

And I will be sharing to you few tips on dog grooming and pet care. You can share your experience too. So we could learn from each other.

Alright my dear friends, I hope you find this site helpful for you and that you’d be able to resonate with every post I have. Lastly, if you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.

All the best,

  1. Hello M,

    Glad I read your post.

We have a dog that is supposed to be a Bichon-Shitzu, but we believe that he has some basset hound in his blood line.

He has been very hard to train. He is always following his nose, and pulls really hard on the leash.

He’s gotten away from us a few times, and we were terrified that he would run into traffic.

Do you know of any good techniques for training a stubborn dog how to not pull on the leash, and heel when told?

    Thanks in advance M,

    Michael

    • Hi Michael,
      Thanks for stopping by.
Leash pulling is I guess the most typical problem of every dog owners.
There’s a dog training program I watch, and what the trainer does to resolve the pulling issue is,
to practice walking your dog at home first or any excluded area. You put a leash on him/her,then you start walking her, with the owner as the leader.
and of course in doing that, do not forget to have a treat.

      Hope that helps.

      D
